THREADBARE: The Signal They Missed

Jack Mercer is winning, and something is wrong with the way he's winning.

Jokes about his policies go online days before the policies are written. Crowds cheer for things he never said.

In Philadelphia, a freelance reporter named Evelyn Cross notices the timing. At the NSA, a quiet analyst named Samuel Reed sees the same pattern from the other end.

Behind it sits a calm little meditation app, and behind the app sits something that rehearses how the country will react before anything happens.

Then a white van starts parking on Evelyn's street.

THREADBARE is a political thriller about an election decided before the votes are cast—and the people who set out, mostly on paper and at real risk, to take the conversation back.
